Public transport to continue during the strike on March 28

Khandaker Enayet Ullah, general secretary of the Dhaka Road Transport Owners’ Association, said buses and minibuses would ply on the capital Dhaka and inter-district routes during the mid-day strike called by the Left Democratic Unity Alliance on March 28.

He made the remarks in a press release sent to the media on Saturday.

It said a joint meeting of transport owners and workers in Dhaka was called to discuss about the March 28 strike called by the Left Democratic Unity Alliance.

The meeting was held at the central office of the Dhaka Road Transport Association on Saturday afternoon.

At the meeting leaders said that the owners and workers did not support the strike. Therefore, bus and minibus will continue to operate on all routes of Dhaka city, suburbs and inter-district on March 28.

The transport leaders requested the administration to strengthen security at important places of the city so as not to face any obstruction.
