In Last 24 Hours 2 More People Have Been Infected

In the last 24 hours, two more people have been infected by the pandemic coronavirus. The total number of victims has risen to 56.

The information was given at an online briefing on the coronavirus of the Institute of Pathology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Thursday, April 2 at noon. Director of MIS Branch of the Department of Health Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman.

The briefing said that in the last 24 hours, 141 more samples have been tested. Two of them have been identified as having coronavirus. As a result, the number of people affected by corona stands at 56. However, no one died.

Dr. Habibur Rahman said the number of sample test centers has been increased in laboratories through PCR machines across the country, including in the capital. In some other establishments PCR machine is needed to test the sample.

He requested medical technologists working in different establishments to collect samples from suspected patients and send them to the nearest laboratory.

Dr. Habibur Rahman said in the last 24 hours, 5 people were taken to isolation. In total 373 people were isolated, of which 295 were currently released.That’s why now 78 people were in isolation.

The official said the Prime Minister had ordered to examine at least two samples from each upazila of the country. Already under his guidance, Director General of the Department of Health Dr. Abul Kalam Azad has directed various departmental directors to collect samples. Today, we are expecting to collect thousands of samples from across the country and test them.

Coronavirus, which has spread from China to China, has infected around 9,50,000 people in 203 countries and regions of the world so far. Of them, 47,249 died. However, more than 1,94,000 people returned home after getting treatment.

Coronavirus was first detected in Bangladesh on March 08. Thereafter, infections increased day by day. As of last, the number of people affected in Corona Bangladesh is 56. All six died. Besides, 26 people returned home healthy.

To prevent the spread of coronavirus, the government first declared a general holiday from March 26 to April 04. Later, the holiday was extended till April 11.

During the holidays, public transport from office to court, all have been closed. Raw markets, food, medicine shops, hospitals, emergency services are out of the closure. Armed forces are also deployed to house the people.
