Chandpur district administration has allocated blankets for relief to distressed families in the upazila municipalities and unions in the district due to the increase of winter prevalence due to moderate cold stream in Chandpur.
According to the information received, 39 thousand 700 blankets have been distributed in Chandpur district in the 8 upazila, 7 municipalities and 89 unions in this winter season. Allotment is made to each of the unions and to each of the municipalities. Evry unions and municipality ‘ll get 460 blankets.
Already, the blankets have been sent to the respective offices of every upazila and municipality, Chandpur District Relief Branch told on Thursday, December 19.
The members of each constituency are advisers to the relief committee. Upon consultation with him, the concerned upazila chairman, executive officer, municipality mayor, union council chairmen will distribute the blanket among the poor in their respective areas. There is a directive to distribute amber after public representatives verify their affiliation in their area.
Chandpur district recorded at 4am on Thursday morning, Chandpur Meteorological Office said, the minimum temperature in Chandpur was13 .6 degree Celsius. This situation can continue till December 21. Moderate and mild cold flows and can spread further.
