The oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected Members of Parliament (MPs) to the 49 reserved seats for women in the 13th National Parliament will be held on Sunday.

The swearing-in is scheduled for 9:00pm at the oath room on Level-1 of the East Block of the National Parliament.

In a notice issued on Saturday, the National Parliament Secretariat confirmed the details of the ceremony.

Earlier on April 29, the Election Commission declared 49 candidates elected to the reserved women’s seats of the 13th National Parliament.

An official gazette listing the newly elected members was published the following evening.

According to the gazette, 36 MPs were elected from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), 12 from the 11-party alliance, and one as an independent candidate.
