50 law enforcers have fallen ill after eating at a hotel

More than 50 law enforcers have fallen ill after eating at a hotel in  Brahmanpara Upazila Parishad of Cumilla by-election. Of them, 41 have been admitted to various hospitals including Upazila Health Complex.

According to the doctors, the members of these law enforcement agencies have fallen ill due to food poisoning.

The by-election of that Upazila Parishad will be held on Thursday, December 10. Voting will be held in 59 centers of the upazila from 9 am to 5 pm.

Meanwhile, additional police personnel have been sent from Cumilla to keep the election process normal. A hotel called Upazila Sadar etc restaurant provided food to the policemen. Police arrested the owner of the hotel for questioning on Wednesday night.

Brahmanpara Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Nazmul Haque confirmed the matter on Thursday, December 10 morning.

According to police and local sources, lunch was arranged for the law enforcers who came to perform their duties in the election on Wednesday at the hotel in Upazila Sadar. After lunch that day, they left for their respective centers. Abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea of ​​more than 50 members of the law enforcement started from the afternoon. Later 41 people were rushed to the hospital.

Brahmanpara Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Abu Hasnat Mohiuddin Mubin said that the members of these law enforcement agencies have fallen ill due to food poisoning. We continue to strive to provide the best possible service.

Meanwhile, the district civil surgeon Niyatuzzaman visited the Brahmanpara Upazila Health Complex on Wednesday night after receiving the news of the incident. At this time he inquired about it.
