Fined for selling open oil in Chandpur

Fuel oil is being sold everywhere in Chandpur. As a result, major accidents can happen at any time. A mobile court has been set up by the district administration on Saturday ,December 21.

The mobile court was conducted at different places of the Chandpur Sadar Upazila. Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Samuel Islam conducted the mobile court.

He said, ‘Mobile court on the sale of petroleum national substances in Badamtali, Nizagachtala, Dhalirghat Bazar, Bangabandhu Road, Nanupur Baghara Bazar and Bahria Bazar areas of Chandpur Sadar Upazila under the direction of Majedur Rahman Khan,the district Administrator of chandpur.

The shopkeeper failed to show their license and confessed to their crime when ordered to show license at various shops in the mobile court.

Later, various shopkeepers were fined sum total Tk. 23,000 in the mobile court under the Petroleum Act 2016. At the same time, the shopkeepers are strongly advised to get licenses quickly.Such an operation would continue in favor of the district administration in the public interest, he added.

Meanwhile, one person died in an accident at an open oil shop on Bangabandhu road on September 1,2016. However, oil sales were not stopped.

And thus, the common people in the sale of open fuel oil is at every moment in panic and anxiety.
