Veteran actor Aly Zaker is no more

Cultural personality and veteran actor Aly Zaker is no more (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun). He died at the Bangladesh Specialized Hospital on Friday (November 27).

Confirming his death, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote president Golam Quddush told, “Zaker bhai has been undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital for the last few days. He breathed his last at 6:40 am on Friday.

During the war of liberation in 1971, he was a vocalist of the independent Bengali radio station. After the war of liberation, Aranyak returned to the country and joined the theater troupe.

He made his acting debut in Munir Chowdhury’s Kabar Natak on 21 February 1972. In June of the same year, Nagarik joined the drama community. Since then, Nagarik has been his theatrical address.

The rest of history, in search of honest people, he is associated with directing or acting in many stage plays including Dewan Gazi’s Kissa, Copenic’s Captain, Galileo, Macbeth. Has adapted He has also gained popularity by acting in stage as well as television dramas. He is the chairman of the Asiatic Threesixty, an advertising agency. President of the Citizen Drama Community. One of the trustees of the Liberation War Museum. Full member of the Royal Photographic Society of the United Kingdom.

He has received Ekushey Padak, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Award, Bangabandhu Award, Munir Chowdhury Padak, Naren Biswas Padak and many other awards. His wife Sara Jaker, son Iresh Jaker and daughter Shreya Sarvajaya also involve in cultural arena .
