The 2026 Hajj pilgrim registration process has been officially completed. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that 78,500 people from Bangladesh will get the opportunity to perform Hajj in the upcoming Hajj season. This information was given in a notification signed by the ministry’s Senior Assistant Secretary Md. Tofiqul Islam on Sunday, November 16.
The notification stated that registered Hajj pilgrims can now verify their information through the Hajj portal (hajj.gov.bd) by providing their passport number. In addition, the Hajj Call Center number 16136 is also operational for any Hajj-related information or registration verification.
The ministry said that now that the Hajj registration is over, information on Hajj packages, training and other preparatory activities will be provided step by step.
This year, 127,198 people from Bangladesh were given the opportunity to perform Hajj by the Saudi Arabian authorities. However, 87,100 people registered to go for Hajj. Accordingly, 48,698 people were reduced from this year’s Hajj agreement for next year. Due to the increase in costs,about 33% of the quota was not met in 2024, and 85,257 people went for Hajj.
According to the roadmap announced by the Saudi government, the deadline for Hajj pilgrim registration was set for October 12. That time has been extended by four days.
The Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) has announced three Hajj packages for those interested in going for Hajj under private management. Out of this, the cost of the special Hajj package including food and sacrifice has been set at 7 lakh 50 thousand taka.
And, the cost of performing Hajj through the general package will be 5 lakh 50 thousand taka and the cost of the affordable Hajj package has been set at 5 lakh 10 thousand taka. And three packages have been announced for Hajj under government management. Out of this, the cost of performing Hajj through Package-1 has been set at 6 lakh 90 thousand 597 taka. And the cost of Hajj Package-2 is 5 lakh 58 thousand 8 hundred 81 taka and Hajj Package-3 is 4 lakh 67 thousand 1 hundred 67 taka.
In addition, a package titled ‘General Hajj Package for Private Medium’ was determined. The cost of this package is 5 lakh 9 thousand 1 hundred 85 taka.
