Major General Shakil Ahmed has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
A notification was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday night assigning him to the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
On the other hand, Major General Shafeenul Islam, who has been the Director-General of the BGB, has been assigned to the Armed Forces to take him back to the Army.
Major General Shakil Ahmed also served as the Director-General (DG) of the Passport and Immigration Department.
Major General Shafeenul Islam is going on leave on March 2 on Retirement Leave (PRL).
