Bengali people living in the United States will celebrate the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This year, the Culture Association of Bengal is organizing the 5th Bangla Conference to be held in Las Vegas this year. More than nine thousand Bengalis will take part in one of the largest Bengali festivals in the world.
The event was organized by the United States Biscope Films ‘Dhaka Kick-Off’ on Thursday evening at the Bangalore Lakesore Hotel in Dhaka.
Apart from the representatives of the organization, poets, writers, musicians, filmmakers, businessmen, journalists and others from different walks of life were present.
This year is the 5th anniversary of the Bengal Cultural Association and the 5th anniversary of the Bengal Conference. Also this year is the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Pandit Rabi Shankar, musician Hemant Mukherjee.
On this occasion, a separate commemoration was organized in the United States in Las Vegas on the grand stage of the Bang Conference.
Speaking at the Dhaka kick-off ceremony, convener of the Bengal Conference, Milon Aon, Prabir Roy and Naushaba Rubana Rashid, one of the co-chairs of the Bioscope FilmSet.
A kick-off event has been organized in Dhaka this year with the North American Bengal Conference. It emphasized on the unity of the two Bangla people, the Bengali speakers of Bangladesh and West Bengal.
Speakers at the event said , ‘The Bengal Conference was being done in the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Hundreds of expatriates will take part in the programme with Bangabandhu in dance, song, recitation, acting and dialogue.
