BNP called a strike on Sunday and rejected the vote.BNP called for a strike in Dhaka on Sunday protesting against allegations of rigging in the two city corporation elections.

The party announced the program in the aftermath of the vote on Saturday, February 1, in announcing the results. When Fakhrul held this press conference after 8 pm, the Awami League mayoral candidates were ahead of the vote in both the cities.

At a news conference at the BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan, the BNP secretary general said, “We reject this election completely. The strike will be observed on Sunday morning and evening in protest. ”

Earlier this afternoon, the Election Commission (EC) filed a complaint under the leadership of BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.

The polls began on Saturday morning at 8 am in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) elections, which continued till 4 pm. This is the first time electronic voting machines (EVMs) are being voted in two cities in Dhaka. The number of voters in the two cities this year is about 54 lakhs.
