Two people were killed and 18 others were injured in a multi-storey building collapse in India.Two people have so far died when a five-storey building collapsed in the Kajalpur area of ​​India’s Maharashtra’s Raigad district. Authorities say more than 60 people have been rescued alive and the remaining 18 are still being held. Efforts to rescue them are still ongoing.

A five-story house collapsed on Monday evening. Three teams of the National Disaster Response Force are working to rescue. Maharashtra Minister Aditi S Tatkare visited the spot on Monday night after receiving the news of the disaster.

Several injured have been released from the hospital after treatment. The critically injured have been shifted to Mumbai for treatment. He said that although the police had started a preliminary investigation, a special investigation team had been formed. Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted after the incident. He described the incident as “tragic” and promised all possible help. In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. He wished speedy recovery to the injured and promised all possible help.

The multi-storey building in Kajalpur area is only 10 years old. There are 45 flats. There are about 80 residents in that flat. The cause of the disaster is not yet known. However, heavy rains have been falling in Maharashtra for the last few days.
