Chance Of Heavy Rain For Another 48 Hours

Chance of heavy rain for another 48 hours.Due to active monsoon, heavy rains are likely to continue for another 48 hours in different parts of the country including the capital. This could lead to further deterioration of the flood situation, the Meteorological Department said.

The Meteorological Department says July has received 30% more rain than usual in the past few months. Due to this extra rain, almost all the crops have bumper yields in May-June. But the extra rains in July have brought floods, waterlogging and danger to other crops, including vegetables in the field.

Meteorologist Abul Kalam Mallick of the Meteorological Department told the media that the monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea have spread from Gujarat in India to the surrounding areas. At the same time, the monsoon winds in the Bay of Bengal are also quite strong. Due to this, the incidence of rain and flood will be a little higher this time.

Meanwhile, according to the government’s Flood Forecasting and Warning Center, water levels in the Brahmaputra, Teesta, Dharla, Jamuna and Padma basins could rise sharply on Wednesday. This could further worsen the flood situation in 20 riverside districts.
