Chance of storm in 11 areas, warning number 1 in the river.There may be storms in 11 parts of the country today. River ports in those areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.
The Meteorological Department said this in its forecast for the country’s inland river port from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday (August 13).
According to the forecast, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Bogra, Sylhet, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattagram and Cox’s Bazar areas will be temporarily lashed by rain or thunderstorms with a speed of 45 to 60 kmph from south or south-east. On the other hand, there is a possibility of light rain in Dhaka today. Dhaka has received 16 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
The forecast for Dhaka and adjoining areas from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. said the sky may be temporarily partly cloudy. There may be light rain or thunderstorms. The wind may blow from the south-east or south at a speed of 8 to 15 kmph. Daytime temperatures may rise slightly.
