5 houses including children burnt to ashes in the Chandpur fire. In the Bishnupur Union of Chandpur Sadar Upazila, 5 houses including children were burnt to ashes. The fire caused a loss of Tk 10 lakh, the family said.
A fire broke out in the house of Joynal Gazi of Gazi Bari in Sugandhi village of Bishnupur Union on Saturday noon.
Four more houses were burnt to ashes in the blaze. Joynal Gazi’s 3-year-old child also could not escape from the flames of this fire. The child was burnt to ashes by the flames of the fire.
The locals immediately informed the Chandpur Fire Service and Civil Defense and they rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. Upon hearing the news of the incident, Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station immediately went to the spot.
Presumably, the fire started from the cylinder gas.
Chandpur Fire Service Station North in charge Zakir Hossain said, “As soon as we got the news of the fire, we went the scene. One child was killed and no one was injured.”
He added that the houses that caught fire had electricity connections and gas cylinders but it was not clear how the fire started. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
