AL two group clash in Faridganj

Awami League clash in Faridganj: 20 injured including police,journalist.Shafiqur Rahman,the current MP of Faridganj and former MP Dr. Shamsul Haque Bhuiyan, clashed in two groups of Awami League. During the clash, the vehicle of former MP Shamsul Haque Bhuiyan was vandalized.The incident took place at the Upazila Sadar on Friday, January 10,2020.

At least 20 people,including police and journalists were injured in clash.Former MP Shamsul Haque Bhuiyan and Upazila Awami League president freedom fighter Abul Khair Patwary were also injured.5 injured have been admitted to Faridganj Health Complex.On receiving the news faridganj Police Station OC Abdur rakib came to the spot and brought the situation under control.

However, police station OC Abdur rakib claimed that there was no major incident due to the strong police position at the scene.

Eyewitnesses and police said a discussion meeting was underway to organize the Upazila Awami League on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. At that time Shafiqur Rahman MP was coming from Faridganj bazar with a ‘slogan’ led by Upazila Jubo League convenor Abu Sufyan and senior joint convenor Helal Uddin.

At one point, former MP Dr Shamsul Haque Bhuiyan was speaking as the chief guest at the ongoing meeting of the Upazila Awami League, which is located next to the Bhandari Mahal Market of the Upazila Sadar. At that time, two groups suddenly got involved in the clash.

At the same time, Awami League leaders have alleged that the picture of father of the nation was vandalized at the same time.

Terrified traders were forced to close their shop parts during the clash. The situation is currently thriving in the area. Police were deployed at the scene until the report was written on Friday afternoon.

The injured were police Md. Didar, Daily Chandpur Darpan representative Gazi Momin, Awami League leader Mizanur Rahman Bhadra, Noor Mohammad, Md Rashed, Rana, Babu. Each of them has been admitted to Faridganj Health Complex.

On the other hand, Abu Sufyan, convener of the upazila Awami Jubo League and Helal Uddin, senior Jubo League convener of the Shafiqur Rahman MP group said, “We were bringing a joyous procession on the occasion of the launch day of the homeland of Bangabandhu. At this time, the corrupt and armed men of the former MP Shamsul Haque Bhuiyan group have thrown brick to our procession. They got up to split the Awami League by the name of a meeting. They want to make the situation worse by spreading indiscriminate propaganda against us by vandalizing the picture of the nation’s father and the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. ”

After the incident, Upazila Awami League president freedom fighter Abul Khair Patwary and general secretary Abu Saeed Sarker did not name the current MP Shafiqur Rahman in front of the journalists, but pointed to him .

Upazila Awami League claimed that 50 of his party leaders were injured without vandalizing a number of cars.

In addition, former MP Shamsul Haque Bhuiyan said, “The terrorists attacked the meeting held on the occassion of the inauguration day of the nation’s father Bangabandhu are none of the Awami League or its allies. It is sad to see a day like this.

Helal Uddin, senior joint convenor of Upazila jubo League said , ‘No one invited present MP Shafiqur Rahman.Moreover,the activists rushed to the rally to take part in the procession’.

Officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station (OC) Abdur Rakib said, ‘Jubo League procession was surrounded by police but they attacked and attacked the police station’.

Faridganj Upazila Officer (UNO) Shuli Hari said, Such an incident is not desirable on this joyous day. Upon receiving the news, I visited the spot’.

Additional police superintendent Afzal Hossain said, ‘Faridganj Upazila Awami League organized a rally. Suddenly some of the abusers raided the rally. During this time they vandalized the car and attacked the activists. The police immediately brought the situation under control’.
