31 people died due to snake bites in flood

31 people died due to snake bites in the flood.A total of 262 people have died in the floods so far this year. Of these, 213 people drowned and 31 died due to snake bites. In addition, 91 more people were injured by snake bites.

Deaths and injuries due to snake bites are happening in different parts of the country throughout the year. In this case, the government has made arrangements for the treatment of snake bites at the upazila level of the country. The government has provided 50,000 vaccines this year.

The information was given at a function organized on the occasion of the third International Snake Bite Awareness Day on Saturday. Health Minister Zahid Malek was the chief guest at the event organized by the Department of Health’s Non-Communicable Disease Control Program. Presided over by the Director General of the Department of Health Professor ABM Khurshid Alam.
