The Ministry of Culture has nominated 20 people and one institution for the Ekushey Padak 2020 in recognition of their contribution in various fields. The information was released in a news release sent from the Ministry of Culture.

This year, the 20 men who have been nominated for the Ekushey Padak are Aminul Islam Badsha (posthumous) in the language movement, Begum Dalia Nowsheen, Shankar Roy, Begum Mita Haque, Md. Golam Mostafa Khan in dance.
Acting SM Mohsin, Prof. Dr. Farida Zaman in Fine Arts, Haji Akhter Sardar (posthumous), Abdul Jabbar (posthumous) in the War of Liberation, Dr MASBahul Haque (Bachchu Doctor) (posthumous), Jafar Wazed (journalist) in journalism Jafar), Dr. Jahangir Alam and Hafez Qari Allama Syed Mohammad Saifur Rahman Nizami Shah.
Prof. Dr.Bikiran Prasad Barua in Education, Prof. Dr. Shamsul Alam in Economics, Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman in Social Services, Sikder Aminul Haque (posthumous) in Language and Literature, Dr Nurun Nabi, Begum Nazmun Nesha Pekhtari, Professor in Medicine.
Besides, Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute has been nominated as the only institution for the Ekushey Padak this year.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the medal to the medalists at a function organized at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on February 26 at 7:30 pm.
