England Won In Manchester Test

England won In Manchester test .The first of a three-Test series was won by the visiting Windies in Southampton by 4 wickets. The hosts turned out well in Manchester. The two teams will meet in the third and final Test on July 24 in Manchester.

In the first innings, the hosts decorated the stage quite well. Joe Root left the batting with 469 runs for 9 wickets. The rain washed away on the third day and caused trouble! Later on the fourth day, the Caribbean batting broke down after touching two and a half in the first innings with great patience.

The Caribbeans scored 287 runs in the first innings before being all out avoiding follow-on. England took a big lead of 182 runs from the first innings. The hosts, looking for a win, quickly picked up some runs and tried to bat as much as possible on the fifth day.

Joss Butler and Ben Stokes were sent to bat early for quick runs. Although Butler couldn’t, the opener returned and Stokes reciprocated the confidence. He gave an unbeaten 78-run innings off 57 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes.

England could quickly leave the second innings with 129 runs for 3 wickets. The target for the win was 312 in front of the Windies,in 85 over.

Windies chased down the target and went up to 70.1 overs. They made 198 runs before all out. With the exception of Brooks 62, Blackwood 55, and Captain Holder 35 at the end, no one else has contributed much.

Stuart Broad took 3 wickets to win. Chris Woakes, Base and Stokes gave him a worthy company with 2 wickets each. Sam Curran holds a wicket.
