Explosion at religious educational institution in Pakistan, killed 7 and injured 70.The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a religious school in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar. At least 7 people were killed and at least 70 others were injured.
Citing police and government officials, Qatar-based Al-Jazeera reported that many of the injured were children.
The blast at the Spin Jamaat Mosque took place at 8:30 am local time on Tuesday. The mosque was used as a school for religious education of Muslim children.
A local man, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Al Jazeera that it was not a suicide attack. There were explosives in the bag.
The mosque’s prayer place was damaged in the blast. A total of 72 people have been treated at the hospital. Several of the injured are in critical condition.
