The district administration in Chandpur has taken extensive programs to celebrate the Great Victory Day on December 16, 2025. A meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in this regard at 11:30 am on November 27, under the chairmanship of Honorable Deputy Commissioner Md. Nazmul Islam Sarkar, at the Deputy Commissioner’s office to implement the Great Victory Day program.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Honorable Deputy Commissioner said, “One of the greatest achievements of the Bengali nation is our Liberation War. He paid humble tribute to the martyred freedom fighters, those who were martyred and injured in the pursuit of establishing a society without discrimination.”
The president mentioned that the program has been sent nationally regarding the celebration of the Great Victory Day on December 16. He called on everyone present to express their suggestions and opinions for celebrating the Great Victory Day 2025 in Chandpur district in line with the national program. Finally, 8 decisions and 11 sub-committees were formed based on the opinions of everyone present.
The sub-committees are: Committee formation with members of all the development committees of the district, Cannon sound sub-committee, Wreath laying sub-committee, Parade and physical exercise display sub-committee, Invitation and reception, Discussion sub-committee, Reception sub-committee for freedom fighters and martyrs’ family members, Victory fair and cultural sub-committee, Composition, recitation and friendship sports sub-committee, Finance sub-committee, National Flag observation sub-committee. All these sub-committees have been formed and decisions have been taken to celebrate the great Victory Day on December 16 in Chandpur with due dignity.
Program: With the sunrise of December 16, the program of the great Independence and National Day was announced by firing 31 cannons at the foot of the Freedom Fighter’s Memorial Statue and Pledge. With the sunrise, the national flag will be hoisted in all government and private institutions, wreaths will be laid at the foot of the pledge with discipline in memory of the martyrs, the national flag will be officially hoisted by the Deputy Commissioner at Chandpur Stadium at 8 am, the national anthem will be played, the Rover Scouts, Scouts, Girls Guides and students of various institutions and other children and youth organizations will parade and perform physical exercises.
From December 16 to December 18, a grand victory fair and cultural program will be held at the Hasan Ali Government Primary School grounds throughout the day, recitation of essays based on the Liberation War, drawing competitions and sports will be held at convenient times. The Bangladesh Navy and Coast Guard will be open from 9 am to sunset for ship tours.
Documentaries and films will be screened at important auditoriums in the district and all upazilas by the initiative of the District Information Office. All entertainment places in the district will be kept open for children without tickets. Special prayers and supplications will be offered in mosques, temples and churches at convenient times,seeking peace, progress of the nation and the peace of the souls of the martyrs.
High-quality food will be served to hospitals, prisons,orphanages, children’s families and deaf-mute schools at convenient times.Chandpur Municipality, Public Works Department, on the initiative of hoisting the national flag and decorating it with colorful flags and lighting it on the main roads and road islands of the city and various establishments.
