Fasting starts from today in 40 villages in Chandpur

Keep pace with Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries, the holy month of Ramadan has started in 40 villages of Chandpur from Tuesday, April 13. For almost a century, Muslims in those villages have been celebrating Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha in unison with Saudi Arabia. Those worshipers are followers of the Hanafi.

The people of these villages follow Sadra Darbar Sharif of Hajiganj upazila of the district.

It is learned that Maulana Ishaq, the first Pir of this Durbar Sharif since 1928, started observing the holy month of Ramadan in this country by counting the lunar months in harmony with Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. Since then, his followers have followed this trend.

Residents of 40 villages of Hajiganj, Faridganj, Matlab North and Shahrashti upazila of Chandpur observed Ramadan in keep pace with Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries.
