Possibility of deteriorating flood situation in 13 districts of the country.The Flood Forecasting and Warning Center said the flood situation could worsen in the 13 districts of the country, including the capital Dhaka.
A statement issued here today said the flood situation could worsen in Kurigram, Gaibandha, Dinajpur, Bogra, Jamalpur, Sirajganj, Tangail, Natore, Naogaon, Munshiganj, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rajbari and lower parts of Dhaka district.
The flood situation in Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Netrokona and Rangpur districts is likely to improve in the next 24 hours.
With the exception of Kushiyara, the water levels of major rivers in the Upper Meghna Basin in the northeast are declining which may continue for the next 48 hours.
Until Wednesday, the Jamuna River could cross the danger line at Aricha Point. The water level of Teesta and Dharla rivers may decrease in 24 hours. On the other hand, the water level of Brahmaputra-Jamuna, Ganga-Padma rivers is increasing which may continue till next 72 hours.
Of the 101 water level stations monitored in the country, 64 have increased, 34 have decreased, 03 have remained unchanged and 23 have been above the danger level.
In the last 24 hours, the country has received significant rainfall, Kurigram 155 mm, Noakhali 107 mm, Teknaf 92 mm, Cox’s Bazar 58 mm, Dahlia 54 mm, Chilmari 52 mm.
