Education Minister provides flow nasal cannula for corona patients in Chandpur.High flow nasal cannula is being introduced in Chandpur to treat patients suffering from corona. This service is available free of cost in the isolation ward of Chandpur 250-bed General Hospital. Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni has given important medical equipment to protect the critically ill patients.
On Wednesday afternoon, July 15, she handed over the vital medical equipment to the concerned doctors of the hospital from his official residence in the capital Dhaka. Education Minister handed over three flow nasal cannula to Dr. Abu Sahat, Sayem and Dr. Touhidul .
Earlier on Sunday, a central oxygen plant was set up in the 30-bed isolation ward of Chandpur’s 250-bed General Hospital. It was set up with the help of Dipu Moni’s late father MA Wadud Memorial Trust.
Meanwhile, Chandpur Covid-19 affairs co-ordinator and residential surgeon of the hospital Mahmudun Nabi Masum said that High Flow nasal cannula is a very important adjunct for patients who have gone out of control of breathing in Corona. Such a device is capable of delivering one hundred liters of oxygen to a patient per minute. As a result, this high flow nasal cannula will play a special role in protecting the dying patients who have difficulty breathing in the corona. Dr. Masum hopes that this will greatly reduce the death rate of patients suffering from corona in Chandpur. .
On the other hand, an RT PCR laboratory is being set up in Chandpur next week for testing corona samples. With the technical assistance of Chittagong Veterinary University, the main initiator of this laboratory is the local Member of Parliament, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni and her elder brother JR Wadud Tipu.
However, when this laboratory is started, there is no need to send samples to Dhaka for corona test. In this way, the patients will get the information of the daily sample test very easily.
