All the schools and colleges in the country are closed till 31 March, DU March 28
The government announces the closure of all educational institutions in the country from Wednesday March 18th to prevent the transmission of the Corona virus. Until now, all educational institutions will be closed till March 31. These decisions were made at a cabinet meeting on Monday March 16th, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni.
Taking into consideration the overall situation, the minister said about the decision taken at the cabinet meeting. Dipu Moni said that as a precautionary measure, all educational institutions in the country will remain closed till March 31. Students should be kept at home. The coaching center should also be closed during this time. At no time can students be kept out of the house.
Although the education ministry has called for closure of all educational institutions by March 31, Dhaka University has announced the decision to close by March 28. Prior to the Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Akram al-Hussein said, “March 17 is a normal holiday.” From 18 March to 31 March, educational institutions will be declared vacation.
Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman has declared the postponement of class-examinations from March 18 to March 28 due to coronary virus infection worldwide.
He made the announcement at the lounge adjacent to the university’s Vice-Chancellor’s office on Monday, March 16th.
The press conference said that all classes and examinations of Dhaka University will be suspended from March 1 to March 25.
This decision was made by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Akhtaruzzaman, Dean of the University, Chairman of the Department, Director of the Institute, Hall Provost, Proctor, Chief Medical Officer.
The president of the teachers’ association was present at the press conference including ASM Maqsood Kamal, Proctor Professor AKM Golam Rabbani.
During the briefing after the meeting, DU Vice-Chancellor said that two decisions have been taken to eliminate the panic. We have all the activities. Two activities were temporarily suspended. One is the class and the other is the test program. Our colleagues also say that they will take time off or at other times to recover the classes that students lose during that time. They have expressed such generous views.
‘Regarding the test program, our test regulator will be requested to include the test activities, as we must aim to ensure that our students are not negatively impacted by the graduation process, to ensure maximum security and security. We have to take that into consideration.’
The Education Ministry has said that all educational institutions have been told to close till March 31, but the Vice-Chancellor replied to a question to journalists that Dhaka University had decided to close till March 28, saying we do not know the others. After seeing these letters, a decision can be made. We decided on our university. Later in the situation, the University will respond in the way that is needed and take decision in the national interest.
