Health rules must be followed: PM.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “In order to protect each other from the epidemic, people of all walks of life in the country have to abide by the rules of hygiene at work, at home and outside.”
The Prime Minister said this in a message on the occasion of National Occupational Health and Safety Day on Tuesday, April 28. This year, the theme of the day is ‘Promise of Mujib Year, good work environment for all’.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the Awami League government has been working relentlessly to make Bangladesh a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed and prosperous country by 2041. There is no alternative to create awareness among the people at all levels about occupational health and safety.
She called upon all to build the ‘Golden Bangladesh’ of the dream of the father of the nation by ensuring a decent and healthy working environment in the year of Mujib.
The Prime Minister said, “Considering the importance of hard work and sacrifice of the working people in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the theme of the day is ‘Commitment of Mujib Year, Decent Work Environment for All’ to ensure quality of life and professional health of the workers.”
“I believe that all these initiatives will play a significant role in maintaining safety and health in the workplace and will be able to convey the right message to all concerned to take specific steps to reduce accidents and health risks by improving the workplace environment,” she added.
