Inauguration of 4 days long Vitamin A Plus Campaign in Chandpur. Along with the rest of the country, a four-day National Vitamin A Plus Campaign has been started in Chandpur. This campaign is continuing till December 14.
On Saturday morning, Chandpur Deputy Commissioner Anjana Khan Majlish inaugurated the campaign program.
She distributed capsules to children at Madhyatarpurchandi Primary School in Sadar Upazila .
Chandpur Civil Surgeon was present at that time. Shahadat Hossain, Chandpur Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Sanjida Shahnaz, Sadar Upazila Health Officer Sajeda Poline were also present.
With the implementation of Public Health Nutrition Institution and National Nutrition Service, Department of Health, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, total 320,828 Vitamin A Plus capsules has been set to give to the children in Chandpur district this year.
According to the Chandpur Civil Surgeon’s Office, there will be a four-day Vitamin ‘A’ Plus campaign from December 11.
At that time, in 8 upazilas and 2 municipalities of the district, aged 6 to 11 months – 36,230 children were given one blue colour Vitamin A capsule (100,000 IU) and aged 12 to 59 months – 2 lakh 84 thousand 598 children will be given red colour vitamin ‘A’ capsules (200,000 IU) vitamin ‘A’ capsules.
A total of 1,043 people, including 573 health workers from the health department and 480 workers from the family planning department, will be administering vitamin A capsules non-stop from 8 am to 4 pm through 2,235 centers in the district.
