The historic Israel-UAE flight will begin on Monday.For the first time since the normalization of relations, commercial flights between Israel and the United Arab Emirates are set to begin. Official communication between the two countries will begin by air next Monday with the launch of an El Al Airlines flight from Israel to the UAE.
A spokesman for the Israeli airline El Al Airlines was quoted by Reuters as saying on Friday.
The direct flight from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport to Abu Dhabi, the political capital of the United Arab Emirates, will begin on August 31.
A top US aide to President Donald Trump, who has acted as a mediator in the deal between the two countries, will arrive in the emirate, a US official said. Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner will also be among U.S. officials on the El Al flight.
The plane will depart Tel Aviv for the UAE at 10 a.m. local time on Monday (August 31). On August 13, US President Donald Trump announced that he would reach a historic peace agreement between the two countries in the Middle East.
The next day (Tuesday) morning, the flight from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv is scheduled to return, the El Al spokesman said. The timing of the flight has been confirmed on the website of the Airports Authority of Israel (IAI).
