No One Can Touch Jimmy’s Record Of 600 Wickets: Sangakkara

No one can touch Jimmy’s record of 600 wickets: Sangakkara.Taking 600 wickets as a fast bowler is not a trivial matter. Injury is the biggest enemy of pacers. Many pacers’ career have come to an end due to this injury. But at the age of 38, James Anderson is taking the storm of speed with ease! He reached the milestone of 600 wickets as the first fast bowler in the world. Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara thinks no other pacer can break Anderson’s record.

Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) president Sangakkara praised Anderson in an email sent to club members on Saturday, saying, “Jimmy is a fast bowler with a great quality and strong mentality. His achievement is remarkable, not just for taking 600 wickets. His hard work, sense of responsibility towards the team and his efforts to improve are commendable. He has set a record in front of current and future fast bowlers.”

Before Anderson, only three bowlers have taken more than 600 wickets. They are all spinners. Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Shane Warne (708) and Anil Kumble (619). There are only two bowlers who have crossed the 500-wicket milestone – Glenn McGrath (563) and Stuart Broad (514). So Sangakkara’s prediction is not a fallacy. Anderson, however, does not want to stop here. His target is 700 wickets. Anderson, 38, is looking at how to reach that goal.
