Journalist Delwar Hossain of Chandpur earned Media fellowship 2021

Nari Maitree and Action Aid Bangladesh have given Media Fellowships to the best 7 young journalists who report on youth and women-friendly issues separately. The fellowship was awarded at the Border Library auditorium in the Gandaria area of ​​the capital on Thursday, October 28.

Delwar Hossain, a journalist from Chandpur, received the fellowship for reporting on youth and women-friendly technological education. The main theme of his report was ‘Problems and Prospects in the Advancement of Women in ICT Training’.

As a Fellowship, the winning journalists were awarded cash, honorary crests, and certificates on behalf of ActionAid.

Every year Nari Maitree and ActionAid Bangladesh jointly organize this event.

This year, the organization called for a report/feature on youth and women-friendly health care, social security, technological education, and women and youth-friendly budget reviews in local government institutions.

Nusrat Jahan Nisha of Ittefaq bagged first place, Rubina Yasmin of GTV and Tahamina Islam of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) bagged second place and Delwar Hossain of bdview24.com bagged third place.

Senior journalists Niamul Aziz Sadeq and Amir Shohel received a special honor.

Earlier, in 2019, Journalist Delwar Hossain participated in a competition organized by Wikimedia Bangladesh and the Swedish Embassy. He wrote articles on women in Bengali Wikipedia and was honored by the Swedish Embassy.

Journalist Delwar Hossain took part in the competition as a volunteer and wrote an article on the life and work of 15 iconic women with the title ‘Women in Bangali Language Movement’.

Delwar Hossain is a regular contributor to Wikipedia as a volunteer.

In his career, journalist Delwar Hossain is the executive editor of Chandpur Times, one of the popular online News Portal in Chandpur District, and vice-president of the Freelancers Association of Chandpur.

He was also the Trainer and Chandpur District Coordinator of the Learning and Learning Development Project of the Ministry of ICT. In his education life, he completed a bachelor’s degree from Chandpur Government College and Masters’s from Cumilla Victoria Government College.
