Lightning strikes kill 28 people in India.Despite early forecasts, 28 people have been killed in lightning strikes in India. 18 people died in Bihar and 13 in Uttar Pradesh.

According to government sources, 4 people were killed in a lightning strike in Raghabpur block of Baishali district on Tuesday. Besides, 2 people died in Rohtas, Bhojpur, Gopalganj and Saran districts. One person was killed in a lightning strike in Patna, Begusarai, Araria, Supaul, Kaimur and another district.

The central government has set up lightning detection centers at Madhubani, Katihar and Gaya in Bihar. People are being warned from there. Disaster has not yet subsided, and state disaster management personnel have been told to be ready. It has been asked to maintain distance from lakes, ponds and plants during disasters. Also stay away from metal poles of electricity. Lying on the floor is also forbidden. People are prohibited from going out of their houses in times of calamity without much need on such adverse weather days.

According to the Bihar government, more than 330 people were killed in the state between March 2020 to September 15. Of these, only 100 people were killed by lightning on June 24.
