Ministry Of Education Will Contribute Tk. 38 Crore

The Ministry of Education will contribute Tk. 38 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.The Ministry of Education and its departments and agencies will provide a special grant of Tk. 38.22 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to address the crisis caused by the coronavirus.

On May 10, the two secretaries of the Ministry of Education will hand over the grant checks to the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Kaikaus. The ministry has so far topped the list of ministries and departmental grants given to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to deal with corona.

According to the information received, the officers and employees working in the two departments of the Ministry of Education and its subordinate offices and agencies have voluntarily given the same amount of one day’s salary and special grants to cope with the coronavirus crisis. Of this, the Department of Secondary and Higher Education and its 16 offices and institutions have collected 29 crore and 92 lakh 29 thousand taka and the Technical and Madrasa Department has collected 8 crore and 30 lakh 36 thousand taka. Their collected money is 38 crore and 22 lakh taka.

The Department of Secondary and Higher Education has given 1 crore and 70 lakhs, Bangladesh Accreditation Council 18 thousand and 853 taka, Bangladesh Bureau of Education Information and Statistics 1 lakh and 18 thousand taka, NTRCA 47 thousand taka and another 1 crore taka as special grant.

Besides, the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust 17,000, Bangladesh UNESCO Commission 29,000, Department of Education Engineering 7 lakh, Engineers Association and Diploma Engineers Association of the Department of Education Engineering total 10 lakh, International Mother Tongue Institute 30 thousand, Secondary and Higher Education 3 lakh the subordinate field level offices 26 crore and 51 lakh 14 thousand taka, Naeem 1 lakh and 89 thousand taka, NCTB 2 lakh and 7 thousand taka and another 1 crore taka as special grant.

The DIA has given Tk. 63,000, the secondary and higher education boards Tk. 11.59 thousand as salary and another Tk. 1 crore as special grant. The Technical and Madrasa Department has collected Tk. 8 crore and 30 lakh 38 thousand as a grant.

Of this, the Technical and Madrasa Department of the Ministry and the National Computer Training and Research Academy together 1 crore and 59 lakh, the Technical Department 62 lakh and 529 Taka, the educational institutions under the Technical Education Department 70 lakh, the Madrasa Education Department, Madrasa Teacher Training Academy and the Madrasa Educational Institutions 6 crore and 58 lakh 16 thousand taka.
