New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern Has Expressed Satisfaction

Brenton Harrison Tarrant has been sentenced to life in prison for shooting 51 people at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. The judge sentenced him to life imprisonment on Thursday.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has expressed satisfaction. She said the attacker deserved to remain silent for the rest of his life.

In March 2019, Brenton Harrison shot 51 worshipers at two mosques in Christchurch. He was charged with 40 counts of attempted murder. A 29-year-old Australian man has been sentenced to life in prison by a judge. And this is the first time in New Zealand that a person has been sentenced to life imprisonment.

Jacinda said the March 15 trauma did not end easily. But today I think, where we are now, there is no need to hear the name of any new terrorist. The latest terrorist incident has taken place.

She further added that the convict was expecting the verdict for his misdeeds as he remained silent for the rest of his life.

Justice Cameron Mander , meanwhile, said life imprisonment was not an appropriate punishment for the crimes Torrent committed. His actions were inhumane. Even a three-year-old child could not escape from his hands.

It is known that the young man will not be able to appeal against the verdict and will never be released on parole.

New Zealand has banned the use of lethal semi-automatic rifles after the gunman attacked the Al Noor and Linwood mosques in Christchurch in 2019. After the scene of the attack was made live on Facebook, the whole world was shocked to see the brutality.
