No delay fee for electricity bill till June: State Minister for Power.The power department has decided to waive the delay in electricity bills till June this year to avoid the risk of infection with the epidemic coronavirus.
State Minister for Power Nasrul Hamid told reporters at the secretariat on Sunday,May 31.
He said, ‘We are also hearing about various grievances over electricity bills. If anyone has an extra bill, it will be adjusted later. At this time you do not have to pay the bill in a hurry. We have decided to waive the electricity bill till June.’
Earlier, the delay in paying electricity bills was waived till May. The order was issued on March 22. So that the delay till May is waived. An order signed by Irene Parveen, then deputy secretary of the power department, said consumers pay their electricity bills through various banks and mobile banking.
At present, many consumers do not leave their homes without urgent need to avoid coronavirus infection. In this context, it seems that the customers will not be able to pay the bills for the months of February, March and April. As a result, there will be no delay charges or surcharges for bill payment in these three months.
