Only a teacher is running class in Hajiganj. The class activities are being conducted with only one teacher at Sameshpur Government Primary School in Hajiganj, Chandpur. On March 07 at noon the students went to the house and saw the students in the field.
According to the rules, the education officers are less likely to walk due to the fact that the Sammeshpur Government Primary School is located on the border of the upazila. The locals complained that the 5 specific teachers were taken to the Upazila’s education office for the occasion, showing irregular holidays, maternity leave, PTI training and various excuses.
On February 27 and March 07, a two-day investigation revealed that all the classrooms, including the school’s principal teacher’s room, were locked. Some students are playing on the field. There are no ordinary people around.
The students of the school said, “Our Hasan sir has gone home. No more sir so locking in our classroom, we’re spending time in the field.
When I went to the house of the school teacher Hasan sir in Khojni, he said, I was not the teacher of the deputation, the head teacher, and it is not possible for me to take classes of about 120 students of the school alone.
When contacted by the school’s head teacher, Ghulam Rabbi, on a mobile phone, he said, “I took leave in the morning at the ATO on phone.4 teachers are at PTI Tanning. Hasan sir, a deputy teacher, asked me to take a school class”.
Local ward Awami League general secretary Saheed Hossain said the school teachers had been in crisis for the past few months. Students come and go to school in search of their attention. Most of the time, none other than the deputy teacher Hasan Mastar was seen coming to the school.
Upazila Primary Education Officer Jahangir Alam Bulbul said, “I will contact the ATO to know if the head teacher has taken leave, as well as receive notification in order to resolve the teacher crisis.”
