Police charged with killing Floyd on bail.The former police officer accused of killing George Floyd, an unarmed black man, has been granted bail. It is known that Derek Chauvin has been granted bail exchanging 1 million US dollars.
He was granted bail Wednesday morning local time.On May 25, a white police officer threw Floyd on the ground and put his knees on his neck. Floyd died of asphyxiation.
The assassination of Floyd sparked widespread protests across the United States. There have even been protests in different countries around the world. Protests over Black Lives Matter continued around Floyd’s death.
Chauvin lost his job due to this incident. Floyd has also been charged with murder. It was decided earlier that if he want bail, he have to deposit a huge amount of money. He then took bail for 1 million US dollars.
