Road dividers provided to ease traffic congestion in Chandpur city

The Traffic Department is working tirelessly under the direction of Superintendent of Police Rabiul Hasan to ensure road safety in Chandpur and reduce traffic congestion.

Traffic Inspector (TI) Prabir Kumar Das confirmed the information on Sunday morning, December 14. At the initiative of the Traffic Department, dividers were provided in front of Baitul Amin Chattar and the District Commissioner’s Office. These activities of the Traffic Department to ease traffic congestion, protect the environment and reduce road accidents have already created a positive response among the public.

TI Prabir Kumar Das, TI Sadar Newton Chowdhury, Sergeant Abdul Jabbar, Sergeant Abul Khair, TSI Anwar Hossain, Rafiqul Islam, ATSI Mozammel Hossain and others were present at the time.

It is learned that the Traffic Department has taken special initiatives to evict illegal hawkers, take legal action against illegal vehicles and prevent noise pollution to restore order on the roads.

Newly appointed Traffic Inspector (TI) Prabir Das, who took charge a week ago on the special instructions of the SP, is leading these activities. Under his supervision, the Traffic Department is working daily on various roads in the city. The dividers in front of Baitul Amin Chattar and the DC office have brought relief to pedestrians and local people.

TI Prabir Kumar Das told Chandpur Times, “Under the strict instructions of the SP, we are regularly filing cases against illegal vehicles. In addition, we are conducting a special campaign to stop the unwanted use of motorcycle sound systems on the road. These sound systems have become a major cause of noise pollution in the environment. We have installed road dividers on an experimental basis in front of Baitul Amin Chattar and the Deputy Commissioner’s office. We are getting a very good response to this. The public is also looking at the matter positively. If the situation is favorable, such dividers will also be installed on important roads in the city.”

The Traffic Department has also taken a strict stance on evicting hawkers sitting illegally on the road. Regular operations are being conducted to remove obstacles to the normal movement of people.
