54 lakh taka has been allocated for pulses and maize cultivation in Chandpur this year.The state-owned banks in all the upazilas of Chandpur district have been allocated Tk. 54 lakh for the cultivation of pulses, oilseeds, maize and spices in the fiscal year 2020-21.
This information has been given in a report of the regional office of the state-owned banks in Chandpur. According to the information received, Sonali Bank has allocated Tk. 12 lakh, Agrani Bank Tk. 2 lakh, Janata Bank Tk. 5 lakh and Bangladesh Krishi Bank Tk. 35 lakh.
There is an instruction to distribute this loan at 4% simple interest in cultivation of pulses, oilseeds, spices and maize.
In addition, the state-owned and private bank branches in Chandpur district have been allocated Tk. 312.47 crore and 61 thousand in the fiscal year 2020-21 by Bangladesh Bank to all Chandpur-based banks for disbursement of agricultural loans and poverty alleviation.
In particular, the government has directed to provide loans at 4% interest for the production of low interest pulses,spices,oilseeds and maize.
