Water-Air-Land routes close for another week in Saudi Arabia

Water-Air-Land routes close for another week in Saudi Arabia.Saudi Arabia has extended for another week the suspension of all international commercial flights as a precautionary measure against the news of infection with a new type or variant of the novel coronavirus in several countries around the world. The country’s land and water borders are also closed. Saudi Arabia’s state news agency, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), reported the information.

Saudi Arabia has decided to suspend international flights on December 12, following the outbreak of a new strain of coronavirus in several countries, starting in the United Kingdom. At the same time, the country announced the closure of land and water borders

The decision to close borders on international flights, land and waterways has been extended for another week, the SPA said, citing Home Ministry sources.

The SPA said the decision was taken to continue monitoring the situation and protect the safety of citizens and migrants. Transportation of goods will also be stopped. However, according to the rules of the Ministry of Health, foreign airlines will be able to continue charter flights for foreigners who are in Saudi Arabia. In that case, the airline staff will not be able to land at the Saudi airport and will not be able to come in contact with the airport staff.

Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), has said that charter flights to countries where new types of coronavirus have been infected will not be allowed.

In addition, all countries that have been diagnosed with a new type of coronavirus after December 6, including Europe, must follow the following three guidelines:

You have to stay in self-isolation for two weeks from the day you enter Saudi Arabia.

Coronavirus samples should be tested every five days during isolation.
