Saudi Arabia has started vaccinating against coronavirus. The country started giving this vaccine from Thursday,December 17.
On Wednesday, December 16, they received the first shipment of the vaccine after the country’s health ministry approved the co-vaccine for Pfizer-Bioentech.
In the last 24 hours, 1.5 lakh people have registered for vaccination.
The first shipment of Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, December 16.
The very next day, they started vaccinating on Thursday, December 17. Saudi authorities have asked people to register first to get vaccinated.
So in the last 24 hours, more than one and a half lakh people in the country have registered for vaccination.
Saudi Health Minister Tawfiq al-Rabia was one of the first to be vaccinated. Reassuring and encouraging the people after the vaccination, Tawfiq al-Rabia said, “We are making sure that the vaccine is safe.”
Saudi Arabia, the second country in the Middle East after Bahrain, last week approved the emergency use of the Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine. But Saudi Arabia received the vaccine before Bahrain.
Saudi Arabia will conduct the vaccination in three stages. The first step will be to vaccinate citizens aged 65 years and above, professionals at high risk of corona, people with low immunity, chronic and complex diseases.
In Saudi Arabia, which has population of 34 million, total 360,000 people have been identified as infected so far.More than 6,000 people have died. Six thousand 91 people died.
