Schools, colleges to reopen from February 22

High schools and universities that were closed due to the transmission of the new type of coronavirus Omicron are being reopened on February 22.

The information was given by Dipu Moni at a press conference at the Ministry of Education on Thursday, February 17.

State Minister for Primary Mass Education Zakir Hossain was also present at that time.

The education minister said that first, the students above 12 years of age who have completed the second dose of corona jab will be able to go to the educational institution and take part in classes in the classroom. Those who have not yet been vaccinated will take part in the classes online.

Earlier, top officials of the education administration, including the education minister, held a one-hour meeting with the National Technical Advisory Committee on Wednesday. At the meeting, it was suggested to open the educational institution.

However, the advisory committee has advised not to open the primary school now. For this, it has been emphasized to wait for another 10 to 14 days.
