Holy Shab-e-Meraj today

This holy night is celebrated with religious solemnity. Muslims observe Shab e Meraj through worship.

The moon of the holy month of Rajab of 1442 AH was not seen in the sky of Bangladesh on 12 February. As a result, the holy month of Jamadius Sunny is end for 30 days on 13 February. The holy month of Rajab begins on 14 February. And on Thursday night, March 11, the holy Shab-e-Meraj.

In Islam, the event of Miraj took place when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was 51 years old. Allah sent the Prophet (peace be upon him) from the earth to the seventh heaven, Paradise and Hell, one by one, through a special vehicle (Borak). Muslims observe the night of Ibadat in remembrance of this event on the night of Prophet (peace be upon him).

On the night of Shab e Miraj, the worshipers perform Milad in the mosque, perform Nafl prayers and recite the Qur’an. Prayers are the best of the acts of worship. On this day, besides the obligatory prayers, the Muslims perform the supererogatory prayers.

The Islamic Foundation has undertaken various programmes on the occasion of Shab e Miraj. Milad, Doa, Waz mahfil will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. There was no event at Shab e Miraj last year due to the coronavirus epidemic.
