Sick competition for GPA-5 : Dipu Moni

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said the students are being taught to have a sense of joy by defeating others. Children are growing up through a kind of ill-gotten competition to get GPA-5, which is not desirable in any way. Evaluation methods and curriculum are being changed to exclude students from such ill-fated competitions.

He said this at a seminar on National Workshop on Learning for Empathy at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital on Tuesday.

The minister said that through the new curriculum, the students will become good people after all. However, no matter how good the curriculum is, the purpose of the teacher will not be realized. Therefore, the teaching profession will be made more attractive. This profession will be the vow of life.

Training will be arranged to enhance the quality of teachers.
