Sonali Bank will provide interest free loans to farmers during Mujib centenary.
Sonali Bank has taken initiative to provide interest free loan to farmers on the occasion of Mujib. As a result of this initiative, good borrowers among farmers will get Tk. 50 crore without any interest.
Sonali Bank’s Managing Director Ataur Rahman said that the board of directors will take the final decision soon.
The bank has finalized the interest-free loan for any kind of farmers. Loans will be given to livestock farming, cultivating vegetables and fruits.
Bank authorities also said there are new plans for distribution and collection of agricultural loans. The state-run Sonali Bank disbursed agricultural loans of Tk. 1200 crore in low interest in the last financial year.
