The Supreme Court judge is Trump candidate Amy Connie.President Donald Trump’s nominee Amy Connie Barrett has been appointed a Supreme Court judge a week before the US presidential election.
The Republican majority in the Senate voted 52 to Barrett’s appointment. There were 48 votes against.
Barrett’s appointment confirms the Conservative majority in the U.S. Supreme Court, the report said.
The Democratic Party of the United States has been opposed to Barrett’s appointment since the election.
Barrett is the third judge to be appointed Republican president in the Supreme Court. Earlier, Trump appointed Neil Gorsach in 2017 and Brett Cavano in 2018.
Susan Collins was the only Republican senator to vote against Barrett.
Trump returned to the White House on Monday after campaigning in Pennsylvania. Barrett was sworn in as judge on Monday night under his presidency.
“Today is a memorable day for the transparent and impartial implementation of the United States Constitution and the rule of law,” Trump said.
“He (Barrett) is one of the most talented lawyers in our country and he will play an outstanding role in establishing justice in the country’s highest court,” he said.
Supreme Court Conservative Judge Clarence Thomas administered the oath of office to his new colleague.
