In one day Taliban captures 3 Afghan provincial capitals

Taliban are occupying one city after another in Afghanistan. The cities of Sar-e-Pal and Taloqan have also fallen to the Taliban since the capture of the key northern city of Kunduz on Sunday. The capture of Kunduz is considered to be the biggest achievement for the Taliban this year. So far, the Taliban have seized five cities in Afghanistan.

According to the Taliban, the two sides have not yet agreed on a ceasefire with the government. In an interview with Al Jazeera on Sunday, a Taliban spokesman warned of any further US intervention in Afghanistan.

Earlier on Friday afternoon, the Taliban seized Zaranj, the capital of the southwestern province of Nimroz. Zaranj is a very important trading center near the Iranian border. After occupying the area around the city, the Taliban began to advance further.

Since the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan, the Taliban have been rapidly occupying various areas there. The Taliban have already taken control of vast rural areas in Afghanistan. Now they are targeting big cities.
