Airport’s Thermal Scanner Broken

The airport’s thermal scanner was broken under pressure from passengers.A thermal scanner at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport collapsed due to overcrowding of passengers. Airport Director AHM Touhid-ul-Ahsan confirmed the thermal scanner was damaged on Monday 9th March .

He said the matter was reported to the health department. This will be fixed when they send the officers. Now a thermal scanner and handheld scanner are in the works.

He added that after the Kuwaiti government announced closure of all types of aviation with seven countries, the crowds at Shahjalal increased. And that is why a thermal scanner broke down on Monday night due to crowd pressure.

Airport sources said that Shahjalal has three total thermal scanners. One of these is already damaged. Another wasted Monday. Now one is in the works.

An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, said that many had to wait a long time to check the body temperature of the passengers at night. The passengers were impatient and collapsed on the scanner. It has not worked since then. Temperature was observed with the hand machine.

Three people have been infected with coronavirus in the country. One of the victims is a woman and two men. Two of them belong to the same family. Two of them recently returned home from Italy. In addition, four more were kept in the hospital’s quarantine.
