Traffic On Bangabandhu Road In Chandpur Town Disrupted

Traffic on Bangabandhu Road in Chandpur town disrupted. The Bangabandhu Road in Chandpur, known as the most busiest bypass road in the city, has been submerged in tidal water. The drivers and pedestrians of various vehicles have suffered in this reason.

The water of Padma, Meghna and Dakatiya rivers in Chandpur has been rising for the last few days. The water level of these rivers increases a lot every day when the tide rises. Although floods have hit other districts and regions of the country, Chandpur has not yet been affected by the floods. However, due to the rising tide in the river in the last few days, many are fearing floods.

Meanwhile, it has been seen for the last two days that the tidal water has risen in the river and the water has risen on Bangabandhu Road in Chandpur town (bypass road).

It has been seen on the ground that the Haji Bari of that road started from Mohammadia Jame Mosque and about one and a half hundred yards of land adjacent to Darjighat, the same amount of tidal water started flowing down the road. During this time the movement of pedestrians and various vehicles was disrupted. In addition, the road from Mission Road to the wireless road on the south side of the road, that is, across the lake, most of the road can be seen rising tidal water.

A visit to Bangabandhu Road on Mission Road in South Bishnodi area of Ward no.12 of Chandpur Municipality revealed that heavy rains and tidal water on Sunday and Monday caused water logging in the area.Bangabandhu Road became mixed up with the accumulation of rain and tidal water.

In particular, the road from Haji Bari Mosque to Khan Bari has seen knee-deep water on the road. It was not understood which one isd road and which one is lake. At this time many vehicles were seen passing through there at a slow speed. At the same time, manyc pedestrians are seen walking on the railway line with their shoes in hand due to the water.

Locals said the road was renovated about a year ago. Every day trucks, pickup vans, covert van, microbuses, CNG scooters, rickshaws, autobikes and other small and big vehicles ply on the road. Due to the movement of heavy vehicles, the road became dilapidated again in a very short time.

The locals think that if the tidal water continues to flow on such a busy road, the heavy vehicles will cause a lot of damage to the road. In such a situation, to protect the road, the locals said that they can stop the movement of heavy vehicles on the road at any time. Therefore, when there is tidal water, the authorities need to protect the road by preventing the movement of vehicles.
