An unidentified man was killed when he fell under the Chandpur-bound intercity Meghna Express train from Chattogram. He is about 45 years old, police said.
The accident took place in the Darji Ghat area of the suburb near the entrance of Chandpur town around 10:15 pm on Monday night.
According to the locals, the dead man was cut under the train and his head and face were crushed, due to which no one could recognize him. He was wearing pants and a shirt.
They said three people had been killed in the past three months.
Chandpur Railway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Murad Ullah Bahar said the body of the deceased was recovered from the spot and brought to the police station around 11:30 pm after receiving information from locals.
Officials of the PBI Chandpur unit have been informed about the matter. They will use technology to try to identify the person with the finger. Legal action will be taken in this regard later.
