The United States will get the coronavirus vaccine at the end of the year.President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the United States would receive the coronavirus vaccine by the end of this year.
“We are very optimistic that by the end of this year we will have a vaccine for the Covid-19 virus,”
Trump said on Town Hall program broadcast from the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC.
Trump also said he would call for schools and universities to reopen in September.
“I want to open these institutions,” he said.
The possibility of getting the vaccine was raised at a time when the United States and other countries are competing to find a way to deal with the Covid-19 virus.
The president stressed that he would be happy if any country in the world could beat US researchers in getting coronavirus drugs.
“I salute any country that is at the forefront of this,” he said.
“I don’t care about anyone,” said President Trump.
I just want to get an effective vaccine.
“Asked about the risks of human trials in this unusually fast-paced research process. They’re volunteers. They know it’s being given to them.”,Trump added.
It is thought Trump may have learned from his advisers about the possible deadline for the vaccine.
